Running Gait Analysis
Learning to run
Learning to run efficiently and safely begins with understanding your individual biomechanics - gait analysis is an essential starting point in that process.
Gait analysis evaluates how your body moves while walking or running, identifying patterns, imbalances, or abnormalities in your stride, foot strike and posture. This information helps tailor running technique, shoe choice and strength training to your unique needs, reducing the risk of injury and improving your running performance.
Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned runner, starting with a gait analysis lays a strong foundation for long-term success, ensuring that you’re not just running more, but running smarter.
What does it involve?
This is not only about how you walk or run. The analysis includes assessing a set of 12 functional movements that have been identified as essential movement patterns for efficient cross lateral movement. By assessing these patterns alongside running gait, we are better able to establish reasons for irregularities or imbalances as well as explain injury history or risk.
Performing both assessments equips us with the knowledge to provide better rehab solutions and cues to reduce injury risk profile and maximise running efficiency.

What to expect?
First appointment: 1 hour with Kyrah (£105)
In this session Kyrah will complete the functional DMS assessment alongside collecting videos of your walking & running gait. She will also need a subjective history of your running exercise, any injuries you may have had and what your goals are by attending an assessment.
Second Appointment: 30min Feedback with Kyrah (£47)
In this appointment, you will receive your results. Kyrah will explain any findings and take you through the video analysis of your running gait, highlighting anything of significance that may explain your concerns or shed light on what needs to change to improve efficiency. Kyrah will also be able to provide you with the exercises you may need to correct the issues or improve your running gait.
Follow up Appointment: 30-45min with Kyrah (£47)
Ideally, Kyrah will want to see you within 4-6 weeks of your feedback appointment to repeat the initial assessment and discuss any changes you may be experiencing. This appointment is really important in ensuring you are adapting as well as you should be and that you are benefitting from what the initial assessment taught you.
