Martin Atkinson
Chartered Physiotherapist

Martin graduated from the University of Brighton in 2009 with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy. He worked in multiple large London teaching hospitals gaining vast experience in a variety of Physiotherapy specialities.

Over the past 11 years Martin quickly progressed through the ranks of the NHS and now works part time an Extended Scope Physiotherapist. This role as an advanced clinician involves expert assessment, ordering investigations (MRI, X-Ray, Blood Tests) and specialist interventions such as guided injections.

Martin made the transition to private healthcare 5 years ago and works as a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist at The River's Hospital. He developed an award winning spinal rehabilitation programme and continues to lead the Physio team on complex spinal cases.

Since working in both the Private and NHS sectors, Martin has developed excellent links with local consultants and surgeons. He is often asked by consultants to provide a second opinion. These links have proved invaluable in current times, allowing a more timely and efficient onward referral pathway for those patients that may require medical or surgical intervention.

Martin now works at B & A Physiotherapy two days a week. His passion is in chronic sports injuries and complex spinal conditions which have not responded to conventional treatment.

Martin is a registered member of the CSP and the HCPC.
